Wedding photo shoot in Umbria: the charm of a medieval town

Hello beauties!

Today I’d like to tell you about a wedding photo shoot I took part in, set in the beautiful Titignano: a medieval town nestled in the countryside of Umbria.

Here there’s the article by Rossini Photography: enjoy the read!

The winter silence of an enchanted medieval town

The far countryside, a medieval castle-town, the top of a hill facing valleys and lakes, the silence of winter, the magic of the empty lands. These were main ingredients that we put together when we planned this shooting, to which we added a fairy in her silk organdy dress. Like a tale, like a dream, we imagined this airy bride moving weightlessly around a silent town, and then returning to her woods, to her secret hills.

The vendors were accurately selected, especially the castle-town, who had to be remote, authentic medieval, and scenic. Luckily, nestled in the countryside between Rome and Florence, there’s Borgo di Titignano, which offers all of this, plus a wood, wild hills, and spectacular views over the valley and its Corbara lake.

The mood, the concept, the season, the place, all pointed at a restricted colour palette: violet, lily, dusty blue, gold, and brown. Colours we used for the flower arrangements, the table settings, the stationery, and the cake.

Fresh and dried flowers were glamorously mixed in creating the large bouquet and the table settings, while the cake was finely decorated with just one, knobby, branch. The fresh flowers were all seasonal, while the dried flowers and the branch were a classic winter decoration.

The table settings followed the same winter-medieval mood, with a sugar-cane blue linen tablecloth, white plates rimmed in gold, crystal glasses rimmed in gold, golden cutlery, and linen napkins.

The paper for the stationary was obviously parchment, but ethereal, slightly transparent, inscribed with ancient calligraphy and hand sketched flowers, adorned by silk ribbons and closed by golden sealing wax, like an old, magical scroll.

The airy bride was a living fairy, Maryana, with her wavy blond hair, icy eyes, slender figure and innate elegance. She wore the perfect dress, a two pieces with a lightly embroidered and slightly transparent lace corset over a long silk organza gown with many layers of frills, so soft and lightweight that they would flow and bounce at every step or movement.

We opted for soft hair, at first slightly gathered together, then loosen in the cold wind. A plain veil with no embroidery, but long and floaty, that would cover her face like in the ancient, iconic paintings of the Virgin Mary, was coupled with simple, geometrical jewels, with an ancient design.

Lisa & Ross’ destination wedding in Ravello

I would love to share with this beautiful video from the destination wedding of Lisa and Ross in Ravello!

Lisa is a very beautiful bride from UK. We had our trial the day before in Ravello: we tried various styles but in the end she decided to go for a soft bridal updo and then loose it after the ceremony to have loose curls.

For the make up Liza has very beautiful eyes, bright light blue and green, so she preferred to enhance her eye colour by burgundy-purple shades of eyeshadow, black eyeliner inside her eyes and lots of lashes; for the skin whe chose very natural and radiant coverage, with natural nude pinkish lips.

Lisa also has had her beautiful bridesmaids to prepare, so we did their hairstyles and make up together with my collegue Marina.

Hope you enjoy the result!

Capelli sciolti o raccolti?

Sabrina’s wedding in Umbria (and some tips on wedding organization in Italy!)

Hi, beautiful ladies!

In this article I would like to tell you about my client's Sabrina. She was born in the USA, but her mother is originally from Italy. She met her future husband in the US but he is from Rome, so what is better than getting married in Italy? It is so romantic, especially in Umbria with its medieval castles and towns.

Sabrina contacted me in September, as they were coming to look for the venues and in the meanwhile organised the prewedding photoshoot with great photographers Andrea & Federica (www.andreatappo.com). We organised the trial earlier on that day, so Sabrina had nice day make up and loose wavy half updo ready for the photoshoot in Rome.

I would recommend all the brides who are coming from abroad to get to know your photographer and your make up artist in this way, to have nice photos as a result. There are so many professionals nowadays online, but nothing is better than face-to-face contact!

So, then the guys went back to the States and we kept in touch with Sabrina.

They chose a very particular date for the wedding, 14 August: everyone who comes to Italy should know that 14-15 August in Italy is called Ferragosto holidays, when everybody leaves on vacation or stays outside the city, or with their family; that's why to find professionals available during those days you need to book them much in advance and sometimes the price of the service is higher.

The wedding was organised in beautiful and romantic Castello di Rosciano (www.castellodirosciano.com). It was an international wedding with the guests from all over the world. The day before there was a welcoming dinner and Sabrina decided to have another trial and have beautiful evening make up (we went for nice smokey eyes in earthy shades) and hair (we did loose Boho waves hair). She looked amazing in her long floral dress.

On the wedding day, the atmosphere was great and relaxing. The bride and the bridesmaids were having fun sipping some Prosecco. I brought my team make up artist and hairstylist to prepare the bridesmaids on the wedding day, so I did Sabrina's bridal hair and make up and her mother's hair and make up. It was wonderful working in this relaxing atmosphere and that's why the results were great!

You may see it on the great photos of Andrea & Federica (www.andreatappo.com).

Even if a bit worried at the beginning, my bride looked very beautiful in her stylish dress and her glowy bridal make up; hollywood wavy hair suited so much to it!

When you organise a wedding in Italy, especially in the middle of August, try to think about everything much in advance: choose a great wedding planner who will save you nerves and time, choose thoroughly all the professionals and make sure they work already a lot with couples from abroad, they speak great English and have really modern style!

Good luck for everybody who is going to get married in Italy and don’t hesitate to drop us a line if you need any information!

Kristina’s wedding in Taormina (Sicily)

Hi beauties!

Today I would like to tell you about a wonderful experience I had last summer, on August 2017.

I love my job not only because I love making women look beautiful, but also because it gives me the unique opportunity to travel everywhere, even in such places that no one ever heard about. Last summer I was planning the trip to Sicily with my friends as I heard so much about this wonderful land. Lots of couples go there to have their destination weddings. Why? Because of the amazing seaside, sun, greenery and archaeological sites.

At the same time I received the request from a beautiful couple that was going to get married in Taormina. So, part of my summer holidays route was decided: wonderful Taormina, a small town with lots of beauties to explore. A day before the wedding I met my bride Kristina to discuss her preferences in make up and hair to decide on her bridal look. She didn’t want a trial as she and her husband came from Siberia and didn’t want to lose even one hour of fantastic Sicilian sun and great weather. So we met directly on the wedding day.

Kristina is a very beautiful girl with blond hair, fair skin and blue eyes: seems like she is eighteen years old, as she looks very very young. She told me she almost doesn’t use make up, so I decided to do a very natural luminous bridal make up with a little bit of brown eyeliner and false single eyelashes, warm shades eyeshadows and a very natural peachy-nude lipstick by Mac.

Her hair is very beautiful and long, but she wanted a thicker result: so we used hair extensions and I created a side bridal hairstyle decorated with a beautiful hair accessory that Kristina brought with her.

They weather was great, not too hot, with a pleasant sea breeze; and the guys really enjoyed their wedding in Sicily!
